WHY we should practice YOGA?

Yoga postures are the main tools for balancing physical body. It consists of various static postures and physical movements performed to release tension, improve flexibility, maximise the flow of energy, and remove tension.
The purpose of Yoga postures is to create a free flow of energy which, affect our health. The Body-Mind complex consist of various interrelate channels – from those which carry food (blood) to our musculoskeletal system that determined by our postures. It is interesting that most of the time we are not aware of our wrong postures, as we are used to see ourselves in a certain way. But, by doing the Yoga postures we realise how stiff our body is, and importantly, how we are not able to use our body to do certain movements (postures).
For example; bending forward properly (inflexible Spine), rotate our hip and shoulders. Anyone who works sitting at an office desk, particularly in the computer world of today, will tend a bad posture. Anyone who does a job that requires only one type of physical activity will have a posture that gets distorted in the direction of their work. Often our most comfortable lounging chairs also distort our posture during hours of resting or watching T.V.
Yoga is a powerful technique that teaches us about our body and how to improve our health, due to increase our flexibility and breathing properly.
Yoga postures keep the body in best possible health. They provide specific positions and movements designed to strengthen and stretch the musculatures to effectively move the body away from pains and illness.
They keep the spinal column subtle in order to create the optimal flow of energy through the nerves that affect the organ and glandular system.
At an emotional level, when we experience stress, anger, disappointment or any difficult times in our life; we release harmful hormonal distribution, which causes physical illness that leaves it traces in the body in the form of KNOTS, MISALIGNMENTS and TENSION.

As a result, we experience:
  • Lower back pain, knee and joint pain
  • Stiffness in our shoulders, Stiff neck
  • Blood pressure, breathing problem
  • Weight issues, indigestion (gas and bloating)
